Our Technology
PROFI 3+
Profi 3+ is the ideal equipment for any kind of inspection task from a quick snapshot to a georeferenced 3D project. Due to its compatibility with all Kummert crawlers and the entire range of push cameras, pipes with diameters from 40 mm up to 800 mm can be inspected.
Profi 3+ features several standards and export interfaces. For each individual project, the inspector can decide which standard to use, if damage categories are generated and if video texts shall be edited subsequently.
Plan masters in all common formats, as well as georeferenced files form the basis for the 3D sewerage system to be created. Drawing functions allow the operator to sketch 3D buildings manually and add details like doors, windows or stairs.
Manholes and drainage objects mark the beginning and end of pipes and sewer sections. Their position on the map can either be determined manually or measured. The inspector enters the manhole’s shape, dimensions as well as the number and position of connections. Thus an exact model is created which contributes to generating a realistic map of the sewerage system. In addition manholes can be inspected and according reports be generated.
Of course the survey of pipes and sewer sections is done in accordance with the selected inspection standard. The software requests all needed information and offers a list of feasible findings. Along with its condition, the pipe run is detected and immediately displayed as a three-dimensional model.
All entries can be deleted, edited or completed while or after the inspection as well as the automatically generated pipe run. The map of the sewerage system does not only provide orientation but is also a useful base for planning rehabilitation measures.
Design
The modular setup of Profi 3+ enables the inspector to change over reels, cable drums, cameras and crawlers without any effort. Moreover the devices are even easier to transport as single components. The arrangement of monitor and control elements allows the inspector a comfortable, seated working position. Accessories like the elevation platform or chair with additional storage space even improve this comfort.
Digital transmission
In comparison to analog, the digital transmission features remarkable advantages – sharper images and higher resolution. Especially still images generated from a video file are definitely clearer and sharper. This is realized by different recording methods. With the interlace procedure, half images are recorded and assembled afterwards which results in effects like blurring and artefacts. With Progressive recording on the other hand full images are captured which prevents any loss of quality.
The PAL standard limited the possible image resolution whereas digital technology enables various resolutions up to HD.
Internet access
The Profi 3+ can be connected to the internet via WLAN or an integrated LTE-module*. Internet access allows for entirely new possibilities and will ease and accelerate procedures and workflows.
If required, service and support staff can log on to Profi 3+ and thus react quickly and more efficiently to questions and operational issues. In order to keep the software up to date and take advantage of all new features, updates can now be downloaded and installed directly to Profi 3+.
Control panel
The control panel provides maximum functionality at minimum space. High-quality joysticks operate cameras and crawlers. Further control elements allow the inspector quick focusing and aligning as well as easy adjustment of brightness. The magnetic pen replaces mouse and keyboard and thus makes Profi 3+ ideal for sites with constricted room and operation with gloves.
Subsequent text overlay
Depending on the selected video quality, subsequent text overlay can be selected for status texts entered during inspection. These texts will be inscribed in the video during the final export in the office. Prior to the export, all data remain editable.
Battery-powered inspection
The built-in battery energizes Profi 3+ up to three hours and is fully recharged after only two hours and ready for its next use.
Kummert push cameras stand out due to their sleek design without any sharp edges resulting in a high pipe bend mobility, easy cleaning and the cameras not getting hooked when pulled back in the pipe.
Axial camera K-28
The small and light-weight K-28 can be pushed through several 87° bends easily.
K-28 is used in pipes with a diameter of 40mm and up. Three equal-white LEDs guarantee the optimal illumination of the pipe.
The 2.2 mm super wide angle lens is enclosed by epoxide resin and stainless steel. This material composition reduces tension on the panes and makes the K-28 more robust.
Axial camera K-35
K-35 has proven for more than a decade while constantly being enhanced.
K-35 can be used to survey pipes of DN50 and up. In combination with a centering sleeve, the camera‘s range of application is extended to diameters of DN70 and up, and in connection with a centering trolley to diameters of even DN100 and up.
With its flexible end piece the camera can be pushed through bends easily and the ball prevents the camera from getting hooked when pulled back in the pipe.
.
Axial camera K-50
Stainless steel and sapphire glass make K-50 a robust camera.
The self-leveling mechanism provides a constant upright image.
16 high brightness LEDs guarantee an optimal illumination of the pipe. When used with a centering sleeve, the camera is also well suited for inspecting pipe dimensions up to DN200.
Pan and tilt camera K-70
With the pan and tilt camera K-70 the nominal diameter can be detected at any time.
The well-proven pan and tilt camera is suitable for pipes of DN100 and up. It features an infinite pan range, a high tilt range of +/- 115° and 10 white high-power LEDs, which ensure the optimal illumination of the pipe‘s depth. The motor-driven focus and the brightness can be controlled manually. Using the automatic mode, brightness is adapted according to the lighting conditions. The camera is filled with air which creates an internal pressure of 1 bar. The basic device’s software surveys the pressure and displays any discrepancy.
The K-70 features two high-grade laser diodes for exact measurements of the pipe diameter or the width of cracks during inspection. Furthermore, it is equipped with a locating transmitter which allows the inspector to localize the camera at any time.
Branch negotiating camera CamFlex®
CamFlex® is THE camera for the inspection and measurement of complex pipe networks.
The always upright image guarantees the optimal orientation during inspection. The brightness is adapted according to the lighting conditions, thus ensuring an ideal illumination of the pipe. Of course, both brightness and focus can also be controlled manually.
Via joystick the camera can easily be bent from a straight position up to a 90° angle, ensuring that nearly all laterals from DN100 to DN200 can be moved into. Even 90° bends are smoothly navigated by the camera from DN125 and up. At specific positions the integrated sensors capture all data that is needed to create a three-dimensional pipe plan. Using Profi 3+ the operator can make a slope measurement, detect the dimension of laterals and measure the angle of bends and branches.
Reels
Reels do not only connect basic device and camera, they also ensure the needed push performance and flexibility. Each type of reel is perfectly adapted to one camera and its according range of pipe diameters.
Recommended camera-reel-combinations:
DN40 and up -> K-28 with fixed reel
DN50 and up -> K-35 with reel H-S
DN70 and up -> K-50 with reel H-M
DN100 and up -> K-70 with reel H-L
DN100 and up -> CamFlex® with reel H-XL
Accurate to a centimeter
When the rod is moved, the reel registers the covered distance and it is displayed on the basic device’s screen. Via the software, the position can be set to zero or any desired value.
Well restraint
The applied reel lock prevents unwanted unreeling of the push rod. To release the lock pin, simply turn it and continue with the inspection, while the freewheel brake controls the rod‘s coasting speed.
Easy assembly
The reel is hooked onto the basic device and connected via a plug. Thus the reel can be removed or changed over without any effort..
Perfect match
Various types of reels are available. The rods differ in length and diameter in order to ensure the best possible push performance and flexibility for all fields of application. Except for the K-28, all cameras and reels are interchangeable.
Robust design
Depending on size and weight of the reel, the side plates are made out of sturdy ABS synthetic material or aluminum. A tubular protects the connected camera during transport and storage.
Transmission
The transmission of data is about to change from analog to digital. The latest Profi 3+ and CompactPlus devices are already equipped with the new digital technology. Of course existing devices can be upgraded.

Wheel sets
Various sets of wheels are included in the scope of supply. Additional wheels can be purchased optionally.
Additional lighting
The crawler F-100 also comes with an additional lighting fixture to facilitate the inspection of pipe diameters from DN200 and up.
The mounted lighting fixture keeps the camera on the F-100 centered in the pipe during inspection. 6 equal-white LEDs provide for a perfect illumination of the pipe up to DN400.
Pulley
The pulley guides the cable around any edge and angle from the manhole into the pipe and helps protect the cable sheath from abrasion. Spring latches in each guide facilitate subsequent cable insertion, thus allowing for the crawler to remain connected to the cable drum and be lowered into the manhole before mounting the pulley.
Accessories for Profi 3+
Elevation platform
The elevation platform for the Profi 3+ comes standard with a comfortable tripod chair and allows – even on longer inspections – a comfortable working position.
can3D®
With can3D® projects are prepared and revised, rehabilitation measures can be planned and entire maps are designed. The customer receives a full set of reports as well as a complete 3D model of the sewerage system.
Preparatory work
Projects can not only be created and prepared on Profi 3+ but also in can3D®. Thus the operator can use the full time on site for inspection tasks. Imported maps and drawings again form the basis of each 3D project. If there’s not plan data available, manual drawings can be done or map sections can be downloaded from OpenStreetMap.org.
Manholes and drainage objects mark the beginning and end of pipes and sewer sections. Their position on the map can either be determined manually or measured. The entered designations will later be used for a correct naming of pipes and sewer sections.
Editing and post processing
Basic information and findings can be edited, deleted or completed. If subsequent text overlay was selected, changes will not only be implemented in the reports but also on the video image. Only during the final export texts are firmly inscribed in the video.
The 3D model of the drainage systems can also be revised. Thus errors made during the inspection like a wrong angle or position of a bend or branch can be corrected without much effort. Missing connections between pipes, sewer section, manholes and drainage object can be established with a few mouse clicks.
Rehabilitation measures
The findings made during the survey as well as the map are the ideal basis for planning a rehabilitation of the sewer system. The preset list is editable and can thus be adapted to the respective range of rehabilitation techniques. After selecting the desired measure, the exact position and length is entered.
A colored label including the description is displayed on the map and optionally on the reports. Together with displaying the according findings this plan is the ideal tool to communicate a complex rehabilitation project.
Documentation
The entered information and findings are automatically transferred into well-structured reports. With the help of an editor individual masters and designs can be created.
The contents and scope of documentation is determined with the help of an export wizard. Thus the operator has full control over the result that the customer will receive. Of course a free of charge viewer software is included.

With our crawlers pipes up to a dimension of 800 mm can be inspected. An integrated locating transmitter, slope measurement and tip protection are only a few of the fantastic features of F-100 and F-200. High picture quality and ideal illumination ensure convincing results.
F-100 – The small and compact crawler for pipes from 100 mm to 400 mm
With its various sets of wheels and a powerful additional lighting, F-100 is the ideal choice for the inspection of pipes from 100 mm to 400 mm.
Various camera functions
At any time during the inspection K-70 can measure the nominal diameter – no matter if it is mounted to F-100 or used as a push camera. Macros allow the inspector to quickly pan the camera to 90°, check a connection or align the camera.
Safe lowering
A moving cable arm facilitates for an easy lowering of the F-100 into the manhole without a lowering rope. The camera automatically tilts up, so the rear wheels hit ground in the manhole at first. Damage to the camera head during the lowering process can thus be avoided.
Drive and control
Two powerful EC motors ensure high performance. The speed settings can be adjusted to four different speed levels, and the built-in speed control keeps the desired speed.
Easy navigation of bends
F-100 and K-70 are connected via a spring joint. When the crawler enters a curvature, the camera head bends up to 35°. Afterwards the spring joint and therefore the camera straightens automatically.
Automatic roll-over protection
In order to keep the crawler from becoming tipped over, an internal sensor measures the slope of the lateral axis. As soon as a deviation is detected, the crawler is automatically being steered back, therefore, kept from rolling over.
Integrated locating transmitter
F-100 features an integrated locating transmitter that allows the operator to localized the crawler in the pipe at any time. The transmitter can be operated with a frequency of 512 Hz or 640 Hz.
F-200 – Flashlight for perfect illumination and crystal clear image
F-200 is suitable for pipe diameters of 200 mm up to 800 mm. A range of spacers and wheels ensures the best possible traction in all types of pipes. The lift arm always positions the camera centered.
Continuously adjustable lift arm
The camera does not have to be mounted – it is firmly connected to continuously adjustable lift arm. The pipe diameter is entered and the camera will automatically be centered in pipes from 200 mm to 800 mm diameter.
High image quality
16 high-power, equal-white LEDs flash continuously and offer sufficient illumination in any pipe, which supersedes additional lighting. The progressive recordings are of sharp quality, thus allowing for a still image to be created from the video.
Drive and control
The crawler F-200 stands out due to its rugged power-train and simple control system. Four powerful EC motors drive each wheel individually. The speed settings can be adjusted to four different speed levels, and the built-in speed control keeps the desired speed.
Continuous slope measurement
While inspecting the slope is continuously measured. The detected value is displayed at the camera control panel and optionally on the live image.
Integrated locating transmitter
An integrated locating transmitter ensures that the crawler can be localized in the pipe at any time. The transmitter can be operated with a frequency of 512 Hz or 640 Hz.
Cable drums
The cable drums can be used for mobile inspection but can also be mounted in an inspection vehicle. The operating panel allows an exact positioning of the crawler in the manhole and the spring lever arm regulates the unwinding and rewinding.
Automatic un- and rewinding
The cable is guided over a lever with a built-in sensor. The lever‘s height adjusts according to the cable tension and the sensor identifies whether cable is to be given or rewound, thus offering several benefits for a survey: The crawler drives forward more smoothly and easily as the cable is always being unwound at a constant rate. When the crawler stops, the unwinding process comes to an immediate halt as well.
Flexible cable guide
An innovative ring guide ensures that the cable can now be fed downwards in any direction, thus giving the user much more flexibility in selecting the operating position for the cable drum.
Integrated meter counter
When cable is unwound, the meter counter immediately takes precise measurements. The meter count can be reset to zero via can3D® at any time.
High-quality cable
The Kevlar® reinforced cable ensures an extremely high tensile strength. Thus it is very durable and hard-wearing.
KR-200XS
The cable drum KR-200 is primarily made from anodized aluminum, which makes it extremely robust, yet still portable with its weight of 24 kg.
Due to its low weight the KD-200XS is easily portable and therefore the ideal equipment for mobile inspections. Of course it is also compatible with the lowering device and can thus be used in an inspection vehicle.
Control panel
Aside from the emergency switch and button for manually rewinding the cable, the control panel features a two-axis-joystick, which drives the crawler forwards or backwards and steers it.
KR-200/ KR-320
The control panel offers a large range of features like steering the crawler, adjusting the height of the lift arm and rewinding the cable. The functional range and position of the operating panel make KR-200 and KR-320 most suitable for the use in an inspection vehicle. Of course they can also be used for mobile inspection.
Control panel
The crawler can be operated via the control panel of the cable drum. Aside from the emergency switch and buttons for resetting the meter count and manually rewinding the cable, the panel features additional noteworthy operating controls: A two-axis-joystick controls the crawler. The height of the lift arm can be continuously adjusted via a rocker switch. Last but not least, the display shows the current meter count, lift arm height or the need to mount a set of wheel spacers, depending on the current action.
Specifications
Please click here to view the technical specifications of all cable drums.
