Inspection Technological Advances and Asset Integrity Optimization Forum and Exhibition

9th October 2024
Grand Hyatt Hotel, Al-Khobar

Petromaster will be exhibiting in Aramco’s Inspection technological and Asset Integrity Exhibition to be held on 9th October 2024 at Grand Hyatt Hotel, Al-Khobar and shall be exhibiting latest nonintrusive technologies for Inspection and Corrosion management in the Oil & Gas Industry.

Presentation Abstract:

As technology continues to advance, it’s no surprise that new techniques are emerging in the world of quality control and asset integrity. Therefore, Petromaster offers a holistic approach for asset management through the utilization of innovative non-intrusive technologies that are useful for Corrosion management, Process diagnostic and estimating remaining life of Assets. This paper briefly discusses UltraAnalyticsR Technology, a UT based non-destructive technique specially designed for performing fitness for service and remaining life assessment of FRP, GRP and other polymer-based composite assets. This patented technology utilizes ultrasonics to evaluate defects, corrosion damage and reduction in materials flexural modulus in polymer based composite materials. The results are analyzed by specially designed algorithms to provide remaining life of the non-metallic assets. Moreover, this presentation also sheds light on an interesting process diagnostic technology referred to as “Gamma Scanning”. Petromaster offers Gamma Scanning
which provides useful insight for Mechanical Integrity of process columns and other pressure vessels. Gamma Scanning utilizes low activity radioactive sources to identify mechanical integrity
and process related problems for distillation columns and stripping towers. Pipe scanning, which is an extension of gamma scanning can be utilized for detecting deposit buildups in plant piping.
Petromaster’ s asset management approach also encompasses safe operation of Pipelines and
hence offers non-intrusive technology for screening stressed zones in the buried and un-scrapable pipelines through the utilization of magnetic memory of materials. This technology is referred to as Large-standoff Magnetometry (MMM). Both the contact and non-contact methods are discussed in
this presentation. Lastly, another non-intrusive technique commonly known as ‘Phonon Diagnostics” which works on the principles of phonon emission and subsequent detection will be discussed in this presentation. The presentation concludes with discussion of laboratory-based failure investigations for non-metallic assets.
